Let’s say you have been grinding out some faction rep in an open world sport. You’re doing a sequence of quests with a number of steps that yield “faction factors” with a gaggle known as, I dunno, “Sons of Buttered Toast.” Every step within the quest chain rewards you with a particular variety of faction factors and you’ll bounce between the 2 quest chains. In fact, finishing the final step in a questline closes it out.
Say you go to the hunt vendor for the SoBT they usually current this listing of your present choices:
Questline A step 3 of 6: Procure salted butter. Reward: 100 faction factors
Questilne B step 3 of 6: Polish the butter knife. Reward: 130 faction factors
Assume each duties are equally tough and would take the identical period of time. Which do you suppose you’ll select subsequent? In all probability the second, which will get you a much bigger reward, proper?
Now think about that the choices have been like this:
Questline A step 6 of 6: Procure salted butter. Reward: 100 faction factors
Questilne B step 3 of 6: Polish the butter knife. Reward: 130 faction factors
The one distinction is that the step in Questline A is now the ultimate step within the chain. I bolded that bit for emphasis. You don’t get any bonus for finishing a complete questline, simply the 100 factors marketed for the final step. NOW which questline would you pursue subsequent?
